PITTSFIELD, MA – 1Berkshire, the designated Regional Economic Development Organization, has enhanced the Third Annual Berkshire Trendsetter Awards by adding new award categories and is currently seeking nominations for outstanding individuals and organizations whose achievements and commitment have strengthened the local economy and helped the Berkshires grow. Top finalists will be honored and winners announced at the Celebrate the Berkshires event on June 26, 2013 at Spice Dragon in Pittsfield, 6pm.
New categories this year include: Nonprofit of the Year, Creativity/Innovation, Young Professional Making a Difference, and Newcomer of the Year.
“We are excited to introduce these new categories, as they allow us to recognize both businesses and individuals for their efforts in the community,” said Peter Stasiowski, Chair of the Trendsetter Awards Subcommittee, “we want to see people recognized for their passion and dedication to the Berkshires, and we anticipate an increase in nominations this year resulting from the new categories.”
In past years, the Trendsetter Awards were presented by the Berkshire Visitors Bureau and focused on exceptional marketing initiatives. With the addition of the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce and Berkshire Creative under the 1Berkshire collaboration, categories were revised to adequately represent all aspects of the dynamic Berkshire economy and community.
Nominations are currently being accepted in eight categories:
- Overall Marketing Campaign
- Public Relations
- Nonprofit of the Year
- Growing/Advancing the Berkshire Economy
- Marketing On A Shoestring
- Young Professional Making a Difference
- Newcomer of the Year
