COME ON DOWN TO THE MOUNT!
The Mount, summer home of American author Edith Wharton, has been a staple of the Berkshire County cultural scene for decades. The evolution of the property from theater venue to it’s current restored state has been bumpy at times.
Below are images of this National Historic Landmark pre and post restoration. These are helpful to understand the magnitude of The Mount’s undertaking.

Illustrators and humorists, Maira Kalman and Rick Meyerowitz, known for their remarkable New Yorker cover, “New Yorkistan”, will be at The Mount this Saturday, August 26 to give an illustrated talk featuring some of their work, and their completely irrelevent musings on Edith Wharton and her times.
Some Enchanted Evenings
Enjoy a twilight stroll through the garden’s of The Mount, summer home of American author Edith Wharton. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in July and August The Mount’s Café is open from 5pm to 8pm. Drinks and light hors d’oeuvres are available and admission is free.
