Berkshire Creative Economy Report

reportIn 2007 the Berkshire Creative Economy report was unveiled as part of the Berkshire Blueprint, defining and quantifying the creative sector of Berkshire County’s economy.

As defined in the report this sector includes, the cultural powerhouses: museums, historic homes and theatres, and theater companies that have grown and developed into international icons attracting millions and creating jobs. Less well known are the many designers, architects, artists, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs who have chosen to make the Berkshires their creative home. Over 6000 local jobs were included in this sector, identifying it as a key industry for the Berkshire region.

Since the report, the organization Berkshire Creative has developed to support and grow this industry.
