Hazen Paper Company Re-Opens Mill Today!

Hazen Paper Company Ribbon Cutting Celebration

Today, October 23rd, 3:00 PM

295 Park Street, Housatonic, MA

Representative Smitty Pignatelli invites you to join Governor Patrick, Senator Ben Downing, John Hazen and Tony Blair for the re-opening of the Rising Paper Mill by Hazen Paper Company!

Hazen Paper is a world-class paper converter specializing in film and foil laminations, gravure printing, specialty coating, and rotary embossings for use in luxury packaging, bookbinding, lottery and other security tickets, tags and labels as well as for photo and fine art mounting.

The 300,000-square-foot facility will initially “serve as a storage warehouse, allowing the company the large space needed to house their paper and keep tabs on its condition. By January, the mill’s pasting machine, which will allow the company to produce multilayer laminate products, like gaming cards, art mounting boards and packaging materials, will be running. Hazen said the state-of-the-art pasting machine, which was part of the purchase, will allow the company to remain competitive in the continuing shrinking paper industry and be adaptable to future possibilities.
“It’s the most advanced machine of its type in North America and possibly the world,” added Hazen.
Six employees have already been hired, at least four of whom were previously employed at the mill, and six more will be hired in the near future. By 2010, the company plans to hire as many as 25 additional employees.”
