Small Business Seminar for Artists

Massachusetts Small Business Development Center to Offer Small Business Seminar for Artists

When: November 12th and 19th, 4:00 pm

Where: Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, 28 Renne Ave., Pittsfield (map)

Participants will learn how to translate creative work into a viable business and develop a business plan that can help guide marketing efforts and business investment decisions (whether that be investments of the artist’s own time and money, or someone else’s).

The program will be tailored to the needs and challenges of artists in the Berkshires.

Attendance at both sessions is expected. The follow-up session will provide an opportunity for participants to share their initial work on a business plan and receive feedback from the instructor and other attendees.

Artists who would like to participate in this two-part small business training should contact Blair Benjamin at MASS MoCA at 413-664-4481 x8104 or blair@massmoca.org, to express interest or request more information.

A limited number of slots will be available, offered first-come, first-serve.

Assets for Artists; a project of Berkshire Creative, MASS MoCA, MCLA’s Berkshire Cultural Resource Center and Pittsfield’s Office of Cultural Development, with funding from Berkshire Bank Foundation – is partnering with the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center (MSBDC) in Pittsfield to offer a two-part training seminar for artists seeking to grow an arts business. This training will be facilitated by Keith Girouard, Senior Business Advisor for the MSBDC.
