124 Fenn Street, Pittsfield, MA

Throughout the year Storefront Artist Project Mentor Program matches local professional artists with high school students. Students work in the studios of the artists, gain hands-on experience in painting, photography, sculpture, cartooning, printmaking, and gain understanding of what it is to be a working professional artist today. Participation in the mentorship program is made available free of charge to local students.

From January 17-February 1 the Storefront Artist Project will present art works by area high school students who participated in the 2008 Storefront Mentor Program. The exhibition features work from:

Nicholas Dixon, Lenox High School, Mentor: Lisa Vollmer

Jaime Keefner, Monument Mountain Regional High School, Mentor: Lisa Vollmer

Danae Lagoy, Wahconah Regional High School, Mentor: Derek Zeitel

Dom Newell, Pittsfield High School, Mentor: Colleen Quinn

Stephanie VanBramer, Tanonic High School, Mentor: Gabrielle Senza

Zoe Villane, Berkshire Arts and Technology, Mentor: Howard Cruse

Funded by Greylock Federal Credit Union and the Storefront’s 12×12 Benefit, the Mentor Program provides high school students the opportunity to work with professional artists and produce an original body of work.
