The Berkshire Forum will be led by a remarkable network of local and national business leaders, social innovators, technology visionaries, and entrepreneurs—bound by a devotion to the Berkshires and an interest in shaping its cultural and economic future.
A press conference welcoming The Berkshire Forum to the Berkshires will be hosted by Mayor James Ruberto at 11:00 am on Thursday August 5 at The Berkshire Museum. Members of the press and local business community are invited to attend. The Berkshire Forum’s mission is to inspire participants to assume active roles in rejuvenating the local economy. It will kick off on the evening of Tuesday September 14 with talks on “The Future of Business: Stabilizing the Fluctuating Job Market” and “The Business of Healthcare: Medical Delivery Innovations Taking Root in Massachusetts” delivered by National Chamber Chairman, William Little, and Health-policy expert, Dr. Scott Gottlieb.
The Forum will continue over the following two days, wrapping on the evening of 3rd Thursday (Sept. 16) in downtown Pittsfield, with a talk from Senator Benjamin Downing on “Broadband Expansion to Rural Communities: Growing Locally, Competing Globally” and a possible visit from Governor Deval Patrick.
“The Berkshire Forum will help bring forward the ideas that will shape our future. I’m looking forward to participating, listening and learning, and hope many others do as well.” – State Senator Benjamin B. Downing (D- Pittsfield)
The Berkshire Forum welcomes forward-thinking doers, thinkers, and dreamers from all walks of life and areas of commerce. Every business owner, employee or entrepreneur, be it at the start-up level or publically trading on the NASDAQ has insights to share and knowledge to gain. The goal of the Forum is to bring Berkshire homeowners and the business community together in hopes of strengthening our collective economic future.
All Berkshire Forum talks and panels will be amplified by performances by local musicians and artists, the showing of short films produced by local filmmakers (courtesy of Berkshire International Film Festival), and a two-day schedule of regional author book signings.
“The Berkshire Forum will be the newest feather in the Berkshires’ cap—one many of us have wanted to see for years. Tina and Mary have the energy, connections and savvy to pull off a top-notch event. We’re thrilled to be on board as a sponsor.” – Eugenie Sills, Founder & Publisher, The Women’s Times
