Over Fifty Berkshire Artists Featured in Downtown Pittsfield at Final First Fridays Artswalk of 2012 on December 7
Pittsfield, Mass. – Pittsfield’s First Fridays Artswalk ends a very successful year of art shows, openings and events in downtown galleries, shops and restaurants with a festive holiday night out on Friday, December 7th, from 5pm to 8pm. Over fifty local artists will be featured in locations from the Ferrin Gallery to the Berkshire Museum, including – for the first time – Pittsfield City Hall. Free maps and guides will be available throughout downtown as well as online at firstfridaysartswalk.com.
There will be dozen of opportunities to buy unique locally made gifts during First Fridays Artswalk from local artists. Across the street from Pittsfield City Hall, Downtown Pittsfield Inc. will host an opening reception for a solo show by Great Barrington artist Terry Wise. Around the corner at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, enjoy the opening reception of Out of the Studio, a show of work by artists who have studios in the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, including Michael Rousseau, Peg Dotchin, Julio Granda, Mario Calouri, Lorraine Abruzzo, Sean McCusker and Jim Horsford. In addition, studio resident Nicole Rizzo, founder of Gypsy Layne Burlesque & Cabaret, will present a special performance at 6:30pm.
Other First Fridays Artswalk locations include the Berkshire Museum, Shire City Sanctuary, Ferrin Gallery, Museum Facsimiles Outlet Store, Pateez Boutique, Brenda & Co., Gallery 25, the Art.On.No studios, Tom Fahey at circa, Lisa Merullo and Thomas Goodrich at TREEHOUSE, prints by Marguerite Bride at the Crowne Plaza, small works by Sherry Steiner at Wild Sage, and contemporary Berkshire portraits by photographer Dominick Avellino at the Marketplace Café.
